Insights into Bhagavad Gita

An indispensable book for the serious saadhaka of the profound truths of Vedanta. Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha provides a precise translation of each sloka of the Bhagavad Gita followed by a 150 word insight into how the message can be applied to one’s life and pursuit. The Experiential depth and clarity of Poojya Swamiji’s interpretations make the message accessible and relevant for any serious seeker of Spiritual Knowledge.

Essential Concepts in BG, Vol 1

This book is the first of the series presenting the essential concepts in Srimad Bhagavad Gita in a unique manner. Mainly the concepts appearing in Chapter I and II are dealt with exposing how grief becomes yoga, the truth about life and about existence. Reflecting over the concepts and revelations exposed in the book will inevitably lead the seeker to deeper and more enduring introspection and enquiry which will culminate in the much more desired Meditation and Absorption and finally to a state of stable mindedness. The culmination will be the crowning fulfilment derived out of a distinguished life of abiding harmony, ceaseless integration, lasting peace and ecstasy together with continuing expansion.

Essential Concepts in BG, Vol 2

This book is a commentary on the essential concepts presented in Srimad Bhagavad Gita, dealing with the concepts in the 3rd and the 4th chapters. The subject matter is karma yoga, explaining how a simple karma (action) can be verily transformed into Yoga through Knowledge and understanding. Swamiji  points out that, an action by its mere performance will not become Yoga, but the aim and attitude of the mind of the performer makes it a Karma-Yoga. This Yoga attitude is cultivated through a comprehensive understanding of our life and activities as a part of the Universal Wheel of incessant activities going on in NATURE. Any action performed with the attitude free from possessiveness and selfishness will become a contribution to the Universal Karma–yajna of Nature and it will instantly bestow freedom instead of causing bondage to the performer. The message exposed from the heart of a Self Knower will have its unique impact on the reader’s mind also.

Essential Concepts in BG, Vol 3

This third volume of Essential Concepts in Bhagavad Gītā series, primarily deals with the concepts elaborated in the chapters five and six. Through these discussions, Poojya Swamiji further enlightens how Sri Krishna’s grand synthesis of Karmayoga and Jñāna offers a universal path to supreme Felicity.

Poojya Swamiji points out that Bhagavad Gītā discusses true sannyāsa as an inner attainment – a state of freedom of the mind and the intelligence, and explains how the right pursuit of karmayoga enfolds the content and sublimity of sannyāsa as well. How cardinal messages of Bhagavad Gītā are verily universal, transcending all religious notions and divisions is repeatedly highlighted.

Essential Concepts in BG, Vol 4

This volume contains concepts presented in chapters 7 through 12 of the Bhagavad Gita. Subtler and loftier notes of devotional sadhana are wonderfully presented by Swamiji. Transcendental dimension of the Guru,”mat-paratva” (Regard Me as Supreme) and “Vishwarupa-darshana” its truths and myths are some of the concepts presented by Swamiji from the standpoint of his experiential clarity as a Knower Teacher.

Essential Concepts in BG, Vol 5

This volume (Vol. 5) deals with the concepts elaborated in chapters 13 to 17 of Bhagavad Gita. The salient aspect in Poojya Swamiji’s interpretation of all the concepts presented in Bhagavad Gita has been to highlight their universal relevance in bringing about a unique expansion, elevation, and enrichment to our mind and vision.

This volume reveals many deeper aspects of spiritual saadhana, based on threadbare analysis of human personality. While discussing the models and enunciations put forward by Krishna, Poojya Swamiji has from various angles emphasized the supremacy of our intelligence when it is freed from the clutch of delusion. He has shown how the subtle impersonal analysis of our personality as well as the world makes our spiritual pursuit effective and fulfilling.

Essential Concepts in BG, Vol 6

Through these discussions, Poojya Swamiji further enlightens how Sri Krishna’s grand synthesis of Karmayoga and Jñāna offers a universal path to supreme Felicity.

Brahmavidya Abhyasa

In this book, the author, Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha, presents the essence of Vedanta and Vedantic Saadhana for the contemporary world, clearly analysing the Ultimate reality of the world in a logical and lucid manner. For the serious and dedicated seekers, many subtleties of the technique of tracing and realizing the Ultimate Reality have been revealed through this book. Pointing out and cautioning against the widespread delusions and pitfalls, dispelling the various myths relating to meditational experiences, Swamiji through the chapters, virtually handholds the seeker to take them to the pinnacle of spiritual saadhana and fulfilment.

Quietitude of the Mind

In this book the subject discussed throughout is the condensation of the Upasama prakarana of Yogavashishtha Ramayana, supplemented with in-depth discussions on important spiritual concepts. The word Quietitude denotes the transcendental serenity and poise of the mind by a process of enlightenment and sublimation. The attainment of this enlightened subjective depth and fullness empowers one to pursue activities to a far greater magnitude, nevertheless remaining anchored to the actionless Subject within. It has its unique sublimating influence on everything around, be it a place, a person or an event.

Science of Inner Redemption - Vol I

In this book, based on Nirvaana Prakarana of Yoga-vasistha Ramayana, Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha in his irrefutable style declares that in the whole Universe, Consciousness alone is, and that Consciousness is verily our real nature. Shedding light on the path of actualizing It, he exhorts us to abide in It, attuning our mind to It always. The knowledge and subsequent realization of this Supreme Reality, sublimates our mind, illumines our intelligence and adorns our personality with peace, harmony and fulfillment.

With dexterity, Poojya Swamiji lifts us to that lofty state of supreme delight, where we can remain unaffected by the torments of worldly turmoil. Needless to say, the message is greatly relevant to one and all.

Science of Inner Redemption - Vol 2

This book is based on Nirvāṇa-prakaraṇa of Yogavasiṣṭha Rāmāyaṇa, which is an authoritative Text on mind. Generally, spiritual wisdom is taken to be an outcome of prolonged meditative and contemplative austerities pursued in ascetic environments. But, Yogavasiṣṭha discusses the crowning wisdom in its functional level, especially as related to interactional life of a King or Administrator. (210 pages)

With dexterity, Poojya Swamiji lifts us to that lofty state of supreme delight, where we can remain unaffected by the torments of worldly turmoil. Needless to say, the message is greatly relevant to one and all.

Science of Inner Redemption - Vol 3

By truthful instrospection, Queen Choodala got spiritually enlightened, while yet living in the palace. Struck by her exquisite brilliance, Sikhidhvaja the King smilingly remarked: “My dear, you are shining exceedingly, as if you have drunk nectar to the full. Have you verily gained sovereignty over a great empire, or attained immortality, by dint of yoga?

And yet, the King did not heed the words of the Knower Queen. Abdicating the throne, for decades he performed hard-core physical austerities in the forest – all in vain! How did the Queen plan her mission of enlightening her obstinate husband? And with what dexterity she took up the role of Sadguru? Did Sikhidhvaja get awakened, finally?

Poojya Swamiji explains with immaculate clarity the intricate episode, unravelling spiritual truths on liberation, true renunciation and ultimate felicity.

A Great Association

A rare glimpse into the life of a Knower, a Self-Realized Master. It is not a biographical account of Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirthaji’s life and mission, which is too vast to be covered in a book. The book presents some fundamental aspects of Poojya Swamiji’s personality through events, statements and anecdotes. Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha reveals that for any seeker, the first step in the pursuit of Self-realization, is to understand the spatial dimension of a Knower’s mind – his impersonal love and dispassionate passion, that are expressed through his behavior, his responses to various situations. He asserts that instead of making a Saint an avatara (incarnation of God) and worshipping him from a distance, a true seeker must look for the qualities that made the Saint saintly and try to inculcate those qualities. Swamiji’s incisive analysis and depiction of Poojya Swamiji’s eventful life will greatly benefit the seekers of true spiritual evolution.

My Beloved Baba

Swamiji presents spiritual developments in the life of his Gurudev, Baba Gangadhara Paramahamsa and himself in this book.

This is an exceptionally open narration of significant events and developments in the spiritual pursuit and life of Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha’s Gurudev Baba Gangadhara Paramahamsa, as well as Swamiji himself. In the background of interesting episodes, rare Guru-sishya dialogues and interactions, Swamiji has exposed very deep and sublime truths so essential for any dedicated seeker, but rarely discussed with frankness and fidelity. This book helps a sadhaka understand the method and manner in which to approach the Guru and the spiritual pursuit.

In the Company of My Lord

A rare, hearty narration of the spiritual life and saadhana of Ma Gurupriya. Ratnadeepa, a young girl from a loving close knit family, given to academic excellence, finds increasing purposelessness in life. Given to rational thinking, keen observation and analysis, her mind develops a yearning that the world of education, profession and marriage is not able to fulfill. The spiritual journey that ensues in Ratnadeepa’s search for the eternal Truth and wisdom, forms the underlying theme of the book.

Applying the same dedication to her spiritual quest that she had as a student and later as a teacher, Ratnadeepa ultimately attains fulfillment in the wholesome pursuit of the spiritual path. In her writing she shares this journey with rare feelingness and candour, revealing the various stages and trials her mind coursed through and transcended.

Spirituality permeates every minute detail of Ratnadeepa’s daily life. The supreme importance she gives to the Guru’s words, growing and blossoming according to his guidance, culminate in her transformation from Ratnadeepa to the Universal Mother – Ma Gurupriya.

Verses for Introspection - Volume 1
